Our spaces for hire..
The cost of running and maintaining our Church and meeting with legal obligations runs into thousands of pounds each year. To help with Church finances, the Church is very dependent on funding the general running costs through the hire of its rooms for meetings and functions. The Church has several rooms that can be hired along with two kitchens. These rooms vary in size and some can connect to others if you require more than one room. Some rooms also have pianos in them. The rooms available are shown on this page, below.

Being a Methodist Church no alcohol is allowed on our premises – this includes items such as prizes at events which offer activities such as tombolas and lucky dips. We regret that we are unable to accept bookings for parties of any kind.

The main church contains an organ, grand piano, and seating across two levels for up to 300 people.
In Covid configuration, seats 30 on the ground floor
In ‘normal’ times, seats over 100 on the ground floor.
Width between walls 15.2m (50ft)
Length from edge of dais (communion rails in photo) to the two rooms at the back, 13.1m (43ft).

Right rear in photo is toilets
Heated by central heating – only when required, so needs pre-booking. It heats the church by approx 1 deg F per hour to the set temperature, but of course the starting temperature varies with the season.
£60 per hour.
Church Centre Downstairs
This long studio space is ideal for classes and meetings and can be divided into two spaces by the folding partition doors.
The Church Centre is the brick building at the end of Woodlands Avenue, beyond the church. It is entered independently from the church. The ground floor is available to rent when available, though, like all Methodist properties, alcohol is not allowed.
Seating – loose chairs. Tables in cupboards.
Length – total length 18.1m (59ft). Dividable by a folding partition.
Width – the wider half, nearer the camera, 4.3m (14ft). The narrower half (because of cupboards) 3.4m (11ft).
Offices – kitchen through hatch at far end in photo. Toilets at either end of building.
Heating – balanced flue thermostatically controlled gas heaters. Switched on electrically, one master switch at end near camera, then one switch for each half.
Whole of upstairs, or whole of downstairs – £30.00 per hour.
Half of downstairs – £15.00 per hour.
This attractive room is suitable for meetings, practice sessions and photoshoots
Chairs as required. Note the piano, packages, etc., have been put there temporarily while the lounge was redecorated.

Toilets etc as for church, or in rear corridor.
Only heated when the main church is heated.
£18.00 per hour.
A good-sized meeting or studio room, it is also ideally situated to serve as green-room/dressing room for the main church
Off the corridor at the rear (dais end) of the church. Faces on to the yard, so at times, during the day, there can be some noise if the Nursery children are out there.
7.0m (23ft) x 4.0m (13ft)
Adjacent, along same corridor.
Independent, by 3 electric wall heaters.
£18.00 per hour.
An ideal small meeting room, this space may also serve as a sound-proofed observation area to proceedings in the main church.
The creche has a window on to the main church (part is visible on the left in the photo), which allows people in the creche to view proceedings in the main church. This window is double glazed for soundproofing.
