Shine upon us, O Lord, with the light that surpasses all other light. Cleanse us with the fire that consumes all other fires and fill us with the love that transforms all other loves; for your own name’s sake. Amen.

Catherine of Siena (c. 1347-1380)

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
in whose name I was baptized,
may Jesus, the living water, spring up in me
as the daily source of thoughts, words, and actions.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
in whose name I live and move and have my being,
may Jesus, bread of life, nourish and sustain me
in the face of trials and tests, opportunities and challenges.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
in whose name I will be commended to your eternal care,
may Jesus, the grain which falls into the earth
to die and bear much fruit,
gather together at the last all I have been,
separating weeds from wheat,
that I might know his resurrection life. Amen.
